The Bihar Museum has recreated the niches from Nalanda and displayed both the replicas and original sculptures in them. This allows visitors to easily imagine how Nalanda looked in the past. I have a vivid memory of the exquisite Vishnu sculptures made of polished stone.

Bihar is known for its tradition of worshiping the sun. The practice of sun worship, specifically during Chhath Puja, is unique to this region. Bihar is home to numerous sun temples located throughout the state.
In certain villages, statues of the deity Surya have been discovered either in village ponds or through unplanned excavations. A collection of impressive Surya statues can be observed at the Bihar Museum located in Patna.
One sculpture that I recall is of the Sun riding in a chariot pulled by seven horses. Surya Murti can be recognized by a male figure holding two fully bloomed lotus flowers in its hands. Another way to identify it is by the presence of large gum boots and the seven horses.
When you visit the sculptures, make sure to also check out the life-sized Matrikas made of stone on the first floor.

Gently, the music that is related to the scene is playing from the speakers located above. During my visit, there was a large gathering of people, making it challenging to fully appreciate the music. Nonetheless, I believe it is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the culture of Bihar.
In addition, there are various other attractions at the Bihar Museum where you can explore a wide range of art forms from Bihar, including Manjusha, Seekhi art, and terracotta carvings.
The Wildlife of Bihar section showcases dioramas depicting the diverse wildlife found in Bihar. I found the map highlighting the wildlife particularly interesting. It would be great if there are tourism facilities in those areas to actually observe the wildlife in their natural habitat.
The children's section at this location provides a highly interactive and imaginative experience for kids
